Transcribing

Volunteers across the United States are transcribing census data. If you would like to transcribe a sheet of the Fairview 1920 Census, you can download this excel spread sheet template. Alternative templates are available at the link below.

Transcribe the data the best way you can according to instructions found at the USGenWeb Census Project web site and email ruiz@unca.edu your completed file. We will get someone to proofread it and edit it as necessary. If we transcribe enough pages, we will submit the results to the USGenWeb Project and make the data freely available at this web site for non-profit uses in databases and genealogical research.
